En Pointe was started in 2012 by Bethany Thomas (that's me!). Prior to becoming a wedding planner, I had already done *almost* everything in the wedding world. I've been a bridal consultant, gown designer, catering sales manager / director, venue coordinator, ordained officiant, emcee, cake decorator, florist / designer, stationery expert, and even washed the dishes. This is not only my passion, but my obsession. And not just in the normal "ooh I love sappy romance movies" kinda way....also in a weirdly scientific and clinical way. I love creating excel spreadsheets to crunch budget numbers and creating detailed venue reports and nerdy stuff like that. That's what keeps your wedding "En Pointe"...not just that I'm doing what I love, but also that I'm dang good at it.

Back in the day I used to dance, and I was pretty darn good. I was trained by a Russian Prima Ballerina, and she was one tough cookie. I remember all the preparation, the barre work, the muscle training, the rehearsing, and so much more to simply put on a performance lasting a few short hours. And the ironic thing about ballet is that no matter how hard you work, how much you cried in the process, what incredible amount of effort was put in, you were judged by how EASY you made the graceful steps look. In ballet you're supposed to float through the air weightlessly, spin quickly, execute intricate choreography flawlessly. No one should ever actually know what goes on behind the scenes. That's how I view wedding planning. To put on a perfect performance that flows and floats flawlessly. The couple should enjoy every second of their special day with absolutely no worry about when the champagne should be poured or how to arrange the wedding party for the processional or what to do in case of an unplanned emergency, The guests should also have a wonderful time and their perspective should be filled with joy and love, not timelines and blocking. I am the stage manager and director - making sure this one special day is perfect with the least amount of stress for the couple.

Also..."En Pointe" ----- "On Point"...get it?

I'm a total band-nerd...like BAND NERD. I marched in the state championship high school band then went on to march with the Bluecoats Drum Corps and then went on to study music education at UNT (and then changed my entire life direction by going into weddings).

I love the water - rivers, lakes, oceans, creeks, etc. and I'm not even a snob about it. My sister and I used to love "slime fishing" when we were kids - I don't care how murky the water is as long as it's relaxing and I can have a margarita near it.

Even though I'm a grown-up, I'm a sucker for kid stuff. Like adult coloring books, paletas (Mexican popsicles), connect 4, The Lion King, etc. In fact, on our first real date after having kids, my husband and I saw "Despicable Me" (no joke).

Jason and I met in 2003 in college. He was (and is) such a respectful gentleman, and is so incredibly sweet and soft-spoken. Not like me - I'm a loud Italian girl that hugs everyone I meet, lol. We were married in 2006 in Fort Worth, and recently moved down here to San Antonio in 2015. Funny story - this picture is of us trying to cut the cake at our wedding, but because I didn't think it was necessary to hire a coordinator I had forgotten the bottom tier was faux, so we were busting our butts trying to cut through styrofoam....hence the laughing faces haha. See, we all learn lessons - I learned way back in 2006 that wedding coordinators are worth their weight in gold (or fake cake at least)!

I have 3 human babies (or "pink puppies" as we like to call them). Bryson is a smart and fun 6-year-old who is obsessed with cars and basketball. I swear this kid never stops moving or talking! Coulson is the typical middle child - he doesn't play by anyone else's rules!  He's got a really weird sense of humor, and always keeps momma on her toes. Francesca is a a fierce princess.  She loves unicorns and monster trucks, is great at snuggling, and can hold her own in a fight!

I've got a unique duo of Australian Shepherds.  Comet is 14 years old, still has his tail, and is a sweet lazy old man.  Flapjack (and he's only named "Flapjack" because Jason vetoed "General Gingersnoot") has a wiggle-butt and boundless energy.  Both my furry boys are merles (Comet is a blue-merle and Flapjack is a red-merle), both have hypnotizing blue eyes, and both are completely deaf.

Since Flapjack is the newer of the 2 and Insta wasn't around when I rescued Comet, he does indeed have an Instagram handle - @GeneralGingersnoot - follow and like, y'all!
